Great thread. One of my professors at uni did not keep a TV. I wonder what "sacrifices" SSer have made while building wealth or reclaiming time. How much time do you spend watching TV or in Facebook/Twitter, etc or do you generally avoid them?

Thanks, Terry. The properties are in NSW. I would like to know if there is some legit way to avoid/minimise it because it was genuinely for PPOR and he moved in as soon as completed and it has never been rented.

I have a land tax question for my friend. He had property A as PPOR until 2013. In 2011, he bought a block of land to build his future PPOR (Property B). In 2013, he moved to B and converted A into IP. He has been told by land tax office that - he is liable for land tax for B between 2011...

Hi Michael IMO "offer over x" is pretty basic question although you said you bought 4 props through BA in the past. Surely discussion about a lot of topics (including comes complex ones) should have happened between you and BA, did they? It kind of indicates may be you are not ready to buy it...

How did you go with your ip in western syd? How long was it vacant before tenanted?

It was near Chermside. Originally advertised for 420, as there was no interest I had to reduce it to 400. Even then the interest wasn't very big. Luckily we managed to sign up. I guess people are more interested in buying currently.

I know your feeling as I was in the same situation up until last week and had to reduce the rent :( . Must be low interest rate. Things should pick up in a few months. All the best.
