    Advise on Western Sydney

Too funny - my old man is Maltese, Mum is 5th gen Aussie. I agree 100% with what you have said. Unfortunately there is a real scum element that is taking over in certain parts of Sydney and the common denominator will have all the bleeding hearts screaming "racist" as soon as you dare say it how...

    Advise on Western Sydney

Interesting topic re Merrylands, i'm looking around there for a unit at the moment. Have to say i'd be fine with living there by myself but no way on earth would i want my wife to walk down the street alone... I'm sure the vast majority of people in the suburb are fine but there is a large...

Hi mate. Just curious as to why you feel 2020 will be the year things get ugly ? Solid reasoning or just a hunch ?

    How bad will it get?

We have a small hair salon near Parramatta in Sydney. My girlfriend runs the business, i work for the Government so only do the banking etc. We've noticed a definite increase in business over the last two or three months in particular. The reason why (in my opinion !) is our prices are much...

2001 - good time to buy?

I grew up in Newcastle and love the place. Sadly my family moved down to Sydney when i was 14 and i've been down here ever since... Nice response Lizzie, sounds like you know Newcastle well... :)

If you are serious about it draw up a contract stating say a minimum 5 year hold, then review every 2 years - one day you or your mate might need to get out and it will cause problems... I had the same thing dealing with family - not fun, and not something i'd ever do again...

    Not happy with Dale ??

I was in pretty much the same boat Frank... ;) I should add the quote you posted was what i put on PI.com and was aimed at that forum and not this one in case anyone was wondering !! :) Cheers, Paul...

    Not happy with Dale ??

Spot on Jamie, when i first became truly interested in property investing i spent some time there - until i found this forum... This is like a university - the other place is like a kindergarten... Cheers, Paul...

    new web site

My apologies. I just figured this thread along with quite a few you have created lately was aimed at promoting your activities. How silly of me... I have no agenda, and i'm sure a few others knew and understood where i was coming from. Good luck with your business...

Westpoint Collapse.. 4 Corners.. 8th May

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it... In case you missed it the majority of investors (and i use the term loosely !!) were unaware of the commisions being paid and not everyone was getting 12% on their money either... As grossreal alluded to they targeted people who were...

Westpoint Collapse.. 4 Corners.. 8th May

DCA the point i think you are missing is that most investors were unaware of the crazy commissions being paid... I know that was certanly the case for my Dad... Even when i tried to talk him out of it he was adamant that his money was "guaranteed" and it was safe because that's what his...

Westpoint Collapse.. 4 Corners.. 8th May

My old man was assured by his financial planner that the money was safe and in fact "bank guaranteed"... I can tell you right now how great the guarantee was and my poor old Dad is still beating himself up over losing the vast majority of the nest egg him and Mum worked for so long to...

    Morals and Money

Exactly my way of thinking too lizzie... ;) If i had plenty of money i'd put some effort into helping those less fortunate, not trying to profit from them... A little bit of greed may be good, but i like to be able to sleep at night... Cheers, Paul...
