There have been sales there but I do not know if it will ever be the same as it once was. The tourist seem to be heading there so maybe the units are a goer!!:D Depends if nickel takes off again I suppose. Townsville only a couple of hours away, close to Charters Towers. I love that pub...

Mining Towns anyone? Its CF +ve

Have a look at Greenvale in north queensland. Back when I was a stockman up around there,(about 1977) it was a booming Nickel mine town. Now you can still buy houses there for around the $80,000 mark but there are a lot of vacant ones. The pub is still going with tourists. The supermarket has...

    Charleville

I know they can not get workers for the new abattoirs, they have imported (I think)30 workers from Vietnam and it is still only half operational. The council and government are building levee banks from Augathalla to Charleville to minimise the floods. Also I think the council is releasing...

Great news for Ipswich investors - $2.3 billion for Ipswich Motorway

There are new brick houses out around Yamanto, near Amberly and Collingwood Park areas. That is what we are looking at any way, newer brick houses on the out skits of Ipswich unless a good weather board on a great block of land pops up in Ipswich itself. Peter

    Re-stumping

Hello, I think re stumping will cost between $7000 -$14000 so I would pull out if you do not want to buy a house that needs work. Or you could try to get them to cover half the cost. You never know they may and if not you can still pull out any way. I do not know if the agent has an...

Hello Amanda, Thanks for that, we will have a look around up that way this week and contact those agents. I like that area around Ipswich for growth IF the motor way ever gets upgraded. Collingwood Park seems a good area as well? Thanks for the info, Peter

    Caboolture, Ipswich or Warwick?

I like Warwick for the same reason as your mother. Some where that I can retire to some day. We got a 3 bedroom brick house for low $170,000 and get $220 per week. So it is not bad. But we are now looking at Ipswich and Caboolture as well as Brisbane around Boondall where there are a few in...
