Bring on the Plibersek/Albo combo, I say. Morrisson is good to listen to as he always makes sense. The scary part is how right-wing he is. So we can say that we all like Pyne because he's so unlikeable, right!?

I think more of him now that I've seen him in action. Impressed that he has the guts to put forward his own pov diplomatically when it's different to Abbot's. He's also been able to U-turn on some of the earlier gaffs.

What does a rental boom really look like?

Rents increased greatly and rentals were hard to come by around 2005-2008 in Sydney. Hoards of renters would go through a dirty, noisy property all together, fill in their applications and secretly offer a higher rent. Lots of homeless people. Lots of news articles about single mums and dads...

    Strategy question

Probably a couple of quiet years to sit through but no worries, we have cashflow. As for unemployment, there are 2 factors that must always be considered. 1/ mining - as already mentioned, the share-house, hotel-living miners are not as prolific as they were for a while. Lots of mining...

    Strategy question

If you've bought into these country cities then you're doing fine. Not only is there a big build-up of equity in Sydney but once the boom ends, rents will start to increase again. When we start hearing about a rental-crisis, that's when the money starts to hit the regionals. All sorts of people...

Anyone remember the days before the property boom?

The hangover lasted a long time though. At that time it was considered sensible to say, "I'm not ready to get weighed down by a mortgage. I don't need the mortgage stress."

Anyone remember the days before the property boom?

My parents divorced in 1991 and the house had been on the market for months and months. A beautiful Wahroonga house situated in the bush sold for $189K - now worth about 10 times that. The worst time to have a house on the market in Sydney that I've ever seen.
