    Asbestos removal before renovation

Hi all, we plan to renovate a house which is very likely to have asbestos as it was built in the 70s. We want to have all of the asbestos removed before the renovation starts. Any recommended contractors and how much is it going to cost roughly? We are in Brisbane. Thanks

    Bathurst or Logan Central

I have got properties both in Brisbane and Logan. From my own experience the council rates in Logan are pretty high. I pay over $800/quarter rates & water in Logan which I think is very expensive compare to my two other properties in Brisbane. The land valuation of my logan property is $173k...

    Bathurst or Logan Central

Hi I bought one in Beenleigh, Logan in mid 2013 for $259k. It's a 3 bedroom lowset brick veneer house with a land size of 900m2. It has been tenanted since the first day of settlement. Rent at the time was $320 and now has increased to $345. Two tenants, both great (the first one moved...

    Richlands or Calamvale Brisbane IP

We have been living in Calamvale for more than 4 years and we like it. Lots of parks for kids to play (calamvale community park), good schools (eg. Stretton college), quiet and friendly neighbourhood, close to woollies, houses are quite new etc. Rental demand - houses seem to be rented out...

BCC Commercial use permit for LMR zoned property

Thanks Ryan! I almost bought a house on Riding Road about two three months ago. I was told by the agent that a lot of houses in the area are being leased out for commercial use without council's approval and as far as he knows no one has ever been caught up by the council. The house was a...

    Easement benefits the property?

The title search was not included in the contract of sale and the easement wasn't noted on the contract too. My solicitor's title search brought it up.

    Easement benefits the property?

Thanks Alicudi! The easement is "eavesdrop". The eaves and guttering of the house overhang the boundary by 0.5 metres. Do you think this is going to cause any issues?

    Easement benefits the property?

Thanks Leo! The easement is "eavesdrop". The eaves and guttering of the house overhang the boundary by 0.5 metres. My solicitor says this shouldn't be an issue. Not sure if this is going to cause pain in the future if one day I decide to sell?

    Easement benefits the property?

I have recently purchased a house in Brisbane and the contract has now gone unconditional. The settlement is on the 16th of Jan. I received an email from my solicitor last night saying the title search reveals a registered easement which benefits the property. The easement was not noted on...

Is it worthwhile to turn a residential property for commercial use?

Thanks RPI! My property is only a few houses away from the cinema. Do you reckon the MCU is likely to be approved by the council considering a lot of my neighbours have already done it? How long does this sort of application normally take (assume everything goes smoothly)? Will this...

I have a main road property at Hawthorne, Brisbane. The property is about 40 years old and will need some immediate renovation so I can increase the rent to make it positive gear. The property is zoned LMR2 but I am not at the stage of developing it. I noticed quite a few of my...

We plan to do a renovation to the house we just purchased. We only have a small budget of 30k. Has anyone ever done a renovation using second hand house fittings and fixtures (eg. Entire bathroom, carpets, doors etc.)? A house not far away from the one I just bought is selling all its...
