    Facing a war

Ummm... did you see this post? http://somersoft.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1325449&postcount=7 I forgot to add they're also drone bombing Pakistan. And that whole list of countries is only in the last 10 years. People need to dig further than the version of the stories presented in The Age...

Is there a way for landlords to join forces and boycott kmart?

Apologies I must have missed it. Surely centralised ducted gas is better for two reasons: Cheaper (if you compare against installing 6 small AC head units, one per room - as even if you had one in the lounge room everyone would want their own controllable unit and the warmth wouldn't...

Is there a way for landlords to join forces and boycott kmart?

Lots of flaming and trolling but no real solutions. Individual meters etc seems like such an expensive way to address the problem AND annoy the students. It wouldn't fix anything really. If the electricity is $40pw per student, and you have 6 students (my guess), and they use them for say...

    Facing a war

Incorrect. There are more than two political parties in Australia, and those who understand how our voting system works will also understand that voting for these parties is not a 'wasted vote'. The wasted vote is the one that isn't made. Personally I vote for a party that: has been flat...

    Melbourne to run more

FWIW I know small Toorak Units took off (20%+ CG) in the last 12 months (after 6 years of basically flat - since 2007). Booms typically start inner and ride out through the suburbs.

Is there a way for landlords to join forces and boycott the environment

Which state is the property in? (or is this thread just a joke?) :) Charge the tenants for the usage.

'Medico' package (85%+ LVR with no LMI) for IT workers

Hello brokers! (and forum), Has anybody had any success getting some kind of medico style deal for an IT worker? i.e. Investor loan, 85-90% LVR with no LMI? I've heard mixed reports. David.

Your vote is more powerful than you think! (the vote you make with your dollars as well as on election day). Which 'power groups' will you give your money/votes too - those that push for war or those against it? (look past the spin and at their actions).

I'll have a very good comparable sale to gauge it with soon... an apartment in my small complex inner North sold exactly two years ago and is up for auction again. Will post results.

How many Properties in a Trust in Q'land

Also, the DTs can be used for new buys in other states too (say 1x QLD, 1x WA).

How many Properties in a Trust in Q'land

You might find an accountant who is more willing to negotiate a better rate than the SRO is with their land tax :) I don't understand the formula accountants use to charge but I would image the greater work for them are the additional properties rather than additional trusts.

    Buying In Indonesia

I've spent some time on all Gilis. Magical place - I love it. However, there are no police on the islands, my understanding is there is a 'tribal style' policing keeping the peace. i.e. if there is some kind of problem then the 'island chief' sorts it out. And be careful not to get on the...

How many Properties in a Trust in Q'land

Yes I've been stung with this inefficient and pointless tax even from just two median priced properties. $1.8k worth per year! I will be purchasing in my own name in QLD from now on. Given your profession you may not have that luxury. If I were using DTs I'd have 1 or 2 in 1 maximum...

The question you REALLY need to ask is WHY would you buy in a hot market?

    Facing a war

Agreed. On the bright side, they can only achieve this with our consent, or at least, our inaction. We do outnumber them millions to 1. The public needs to take an interest in what is going on, vote for parties that do not bend over for their corporate overlords and not be distracted by...

    Buying In Indonesia

I'd love to own some land in Gili (after seeing similar areas in Thailand boom over the years) but I just don't believe property ownership rights are strong enough there. I could imagine all it would take is a dispute with the local authorities (or change in government) and wham your property...
