    Valuers & Real Estate Agents

I have just sold my commercial property at Raymond Terrace, it was valued at the time of my husband's death 2 years ago at $x amount of dollars. I subsequently made the decision to sell the property and asked an agent about 9 months ago who specialised in commercial properties to give me an...

    A week without power

Oh how good was the hot shower I had this morning :D I have a new appreciation of home comforts. While appreciating the SES, Ausgrid etc, I also have an appreciation of McDonalds at Salamander where the staff slaved 24 hrs to feed us - KFC and Dominoes also did their bit. The shopping centre...

    Unresponsive RE agents

Just been to my second Open House, same as first open, agent didnt' even bother to ask my name or contact no and when I asked about other homes he might have on his books and told him the amount I would be spending [not chickenfeed] wasn't even interested. I am quite depressed about having to...

    Fully leased multiple tenancy complex

After much thought I have decided to sell my multi tenanted property which is a 2 minute walk to Raymond Terrace Shopping Centre. There are 12 small industrial units all leased. This property is never vacant so no more worrying about that white elephant which will remain vacant for many...

    REA's vendor database

Not having bought a house for 16 years I am somewhat bemused at the antics of current agents on how they sell houses, I have learnt what BOO means, 'friendly auction' ? etc. I have asked a couple of agents if they advertise all their listings - I was told the agency circulates listings to their...

    Installed new security fence

Have just replaced the old chain wire fence with a new security fence and got rid of the shrubs etc, the old one didn't fully enclose the 2 front units, the new one does - much to the delight of the tenant in Unit 1 who said he now feels safe when working at night :)

    Best offer over [BOO]

It's been a while since I bought a house and after looking at the real estate ads am wondering how you deal with a house advertised as BOO, is this the new guessing game:confused: and how do you deal with it. My inclination would be to walk away and tell the agent I dont play guessing games...

Buying a unit off plan - a horror story

I have been reading Flat Chat for a long time and came across this article today which is the worst of a trend I have been noticing for some time - http://www.flat-chat.com.au/forum/and-the-rest/honest-property-developers-is-that-an-oxymoron/#p13967 Would you buy off plan

    Hi-tech Spraying of boats

I have just refused a would be tenant, his business is the spraying of boats. I am aware of the dangers and the need for council approval and would normally refuse such an application ... he assured me he uses a hi-tech method of spraying in a nylon tent. I think there would still be problems...

    Shoal Bay at Port Stephens

I have noted with some surprise the prices now being obtained in this area, it has usually been seen as the poor relation to Soldiers Point. This house was sold for $730,000, [URL="http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-nsw-shoal+bay-117969967"[/URL] and last week contracts were...

    Oooops! what have I done

The worst mistake I ever made was to rent one of our industrial units to a nice young man to use as a motor bike repair business, he had good references so I let him move in. Some weeks later I learnt I had 'bikies' on the property ... I was worried about evicting them until the local detectives...
