Council rate for duplex Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone here own a duplex in one title in Elizabeth? If so, how much are you paying for council rate? I have a duplex in separate titles and paying ~$1050 each (~$750 fixed and the rest depends on valuation of property). At the end of the day...

    Loan to credit card?

First of all, I only share what I've done, surely there must be a better way to go and I love to hear if someone mind to share. Anyway, re your questions: Why not? If the debt is 0% or very low interest and I can maximise the cash to repay or offset other debt with higher interest. As I said...

    Loan to credit card?

In order to max the cash in my offset, I did something like: Got a 0% purchase 9mths CC-> max the limit out with purchases asap-> kept paying min repay for the next 7-8months->apply a 1% BT 1 year CC from anther bank and transferred all balance left on my first card. :D

    Loan to credit card?

Beware you understand what exact the CC is offering, some do 0% purchase, some do 0% balance transfer. The interest they charge is completely different! I guess "refinance" personal loan with CC will be quite messy. Why not simply get a low/0% purchase CC and pay EVERYTHING you can on it...

    Cost ofa new roof?

How about just give the roof a pressure clean and paint it? I've got a quote from a licensed roof tradie on Gumtree for 1.5K recently (1 coat of protective paint and 2 color paint). It's for the whole roof of a house of 180sqm. It's a huge saving if your roof still in good shape (but bad...

    struggling-middle-class-or-super-wealthy

Can't agree more with one of the comments: There are 3 classes. The rich who work little and pay little tax. The middle who work hard and pay a lot of tax. The poor who are put there by the rich to scare the crap out of the midddle class and keep them working for the rich. Sadly those work...

Agree, it does look attractive to different kind of buyers. For developers, it appears able to subdivide a new block easily and retaining the existing house. For someone looking a family home, it's no doubt a nice one in that area. The price looks reasonable for home buyer as it's located right...

As another poster mentioned the valuation will be defining factor. Be aware that another apartment in the block sold for $600K doesn't mean the bank's valuer agree that. What happen if that sales was significantly higher than other sales? or if another apartment in the block sold for...
