    Hybrid trust changes since 2004?

So I have an "old" hybrid trust (ala Dale GG and Chris Batten style). It was created in 2004 and not "used" much since then, other than paying accountants and ASIC fees. The original intent of it's setup changed so was never used to acquire property. If I were to start using it now (to purchase...

    Cross collaterising - please explain!

we love breakfree too. Only thing I have not been able to get around is when loans are in different entities (ie soley wife, soley husband, trust etc). Then can't seem to get around paying annual package fee for each entity. Wish there was some sort of introduction fee discount. ie I...

New smoke alarm legislation in Qld

you're spot on Sunfish re different interpretations. My PM is frugal but conservative. Says cost of batteries and testing and cleaning all to be done by licensed electrical contractor. Concern is that if dodgey tennant took batteries out to use for something else (esp since the batteries are...

We are just putting around 120 lights in our house (it had no lighting before). We are putting a combination of fluor and halogens. The fluoros are larger style (take edison screw fluoros) but they have frosted glass covers. They look really nice in the corners and around edges of rooms, washing...

you can with some fire rated downlights. we have just put some in - they are artcraft superlux sve90. More exy than elcheapos but at $29 each it is not too bad considering the heating savings we will make. alternatively you could put in the larger downlights that take edison screw globes. we...

ARE HIGH CEILINGS A PLUS when purchasing a house

In a cold climate they suck. We are just lowering a 120 sq m ceiling (plasterboard and plastering finished Friday). However, we are keeping part of it high and then having bits around it that are lower where we have put concealed pelmets with lighting. Some of the ceiling changes are sloped and...

for celings we use 1/4 tint off white i wouldn't use this if i was doing a brown based white on the walls though. Could maybe use a 1/4 or 1/8th tint of wall colour.
