I have some important non-property issues to ask regarding how the legal profession operates in general. I am hoping someone here might direct me to a good active legal forum. I cannot find one on the net. Forum moderator - I know this is not property specific but please let this one get some...

    Stamp Duty

In Vic the stamp duty is less if the property is principle place of residence. I will live there for about 6 months. On the loan app I have said the property is an investment, which it is in the long run as I intend to purchase another within 6 months. Will I get grief down the track from...

Stamp Duty paid within 3 months of settlement. VIC

The Vic gov website page "Taxes and Duties" clearly states (under Land Transfers) that: "The purchaser is liable to pay the duty within 3 months of settlement". Now I presume most people pay at settlement when all the monies criss-cross. Is 3 months possible?

    How/when is LMI written off.

I believe 'loan costs' are written off over 5 years. Is LMI treated this way? What if the mortgage providor pays for it? Thanks

LVR and LMI and short term cash flow.

I am having trouble determining with a reasonable degree of accuracy the monies required up front. An extreme hypothetical to illustrate the point. Lo Doc loan. If I buy for 500K and valuation is 800K then LVR is below 80% if I am seeking 500K. If valuation is 500K then 95% = 475K. PLUS...
