Buffett buys into the Australian share market.

I got a feeling that long term this new arrangement will perhaps be better for Berkshire holders than IAG. Am I correct the man who just purchased 3.7% of IAG is getting 20% of future business? I am by know means an expert and haven't read the fine print but I suspect this might be dilutive...

Can you compare the currency rates at the same time (say on XE.com) you place the order? I would be interest to know if they are giving with one hand... Best of luck..

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

My problem with the Commsec system is they make it too hard by having to transfer to a foreign currency account in advance, while others just execute and convert currency on the trade with your AUD account which I imagine makes keeping records easier.

Buying small volume USA shares from Australia?

This is something that I have been looking into. Nabtrade $15 looks almost too good to be true. I suspect they make their money on the FX. https://www.nabtrade.com.au/features/products/international-shares/overview

Race hate flyer distributed in Sydney's north shore and inner city

I don't think we should conflate foreign investment with foreign investment in residential property. There is a difference. I get the economic case for foreign investment especially for a country that runs trade deficits and wants to maintain a high standard of living, you have to sell the...

On the subject of WAM if you are interested I strongly recommend former WAM right hand man Matthew Kidman's book bulls, bears and a croupier.

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Ok will chime in, I would personally prefer something without an outperformance fee (I think WAM is 20% outperformance on top of the 1%) Also don't take any small cap LIC dividend as a certainty they are giving you back capital gains so keep that in mind, more so if the market tanks. Have...

I'm calling it... 2015 is the peak

Whatever happened to Steve Keen? It seems the media have appropriated the bear spokesman to that Lindsay David chap who comes across less convincing and more of an emotional missed the boat type.

Seriously will Syd ever stop going up?

I was looking in the window of RE at Avalon a few months ago and was kind of surprised how reasonable the prices seemed, might of been old listings cant say for sure. But yeah prices are crazy in Sydney now and I do wonder if it is all going to end in tears.

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

If you applied the same 'earnings' scrutiny to your sacrosanct ETF you would be even more disappointed. By all means continue on with your confirmation bias for all to see. I see Warren Buffett still has all his money invested in BRK what is essentially an LIC. It seems he doesn't practise...

Oracle this is not the first time you have busted in pointing to LICs claiming the emperor has no clothes because it doesn't wash with the altar of John Jack Bogle. You are entitled to your opinion even when the facts politely shown point otherwise. One thing I think we all agree on is...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

You know whats funny your ETF would have a similar PE if it were a company not a trust, actually your ETF would have a higher PE because it contains non investment grade companies. Since the penny didn't drop I will tell you something shocking PE is irrelevant with an LIC (or an ETF)because...
