    RIP PennyK

I remember reading her curve ball thread and wondering when visiting the forum how she was doing, I like many thought she was doing ok and didn't realise how ill she was. She certainly is an inspiration to all with her strength and positive attitude when facing a tough enemy. I'm sure her...

    Mining boom

Everything slowing in Mackay as well. Write up in last Saturday's paper about mining support companies laying off staff. I have talked to people in different fields around town, all say the same, slowed down last 4 months and even more so past 2 months. Rents have now levelled out. Uncertain...

Removing a bedroom - would you advise against this?

I'd like to open up my 4th bedroom and enlarge my living space in my PPOR too. I don't need the 4th bedroom and could do with the extra space since I love space. :D 4 bedrooms ARE better renters but main thing is as long as it has 2 bathrooms and 2 cars, 3 bedrooms would still be ok IMO...

    Credit Card is killing me

And most importantly, LEARN from the experience. Credit card debt is so easy to rack up but extremely difficult to pay down. Mine is currently at$3,000 with rates etc (a lot for me) and paying down madly.

    Credit Card is killing me

I think c/c companies would love people like you, large debt transfer and they expect after 12 months no extra would be paid = $ for them. Get the card .. cut it up and pay down madly for 12 mths then reaccess position. Maybe even tell your currant c/c company you are considering that option...

    Credit Card is killing me

Is it worth refinancing on a "transfer balance 0 interest for 1 year card'? Buy a year of breathing space to pay down as much as possible.

Infant Death due to unrepaired deck

I remember this happening, it was a bit vague at the time but I gathered the father was walking / moving around on the deck and tripped / slipped or something to do with the deck and the baby went flying. Very tragic for all concerned.

1 In 5 Australians: What Super is left by the age of 70?

I definately will contact the fund, thanks. ( take into consideration I have snippets of info only, no solid knowledge) BUT From what I gather it's 10% per year, that doesn't make sense to me because in 10 years (age 65) there would be hardy anything left. (suppose over those 10 years tho you...

1 In 5 Australians: What Super is left by the age of 70?

I'm interested in this, just found out we could do it last week. What are the strings attached? The info I got was junk mail from NAB and it suggested you might have to reduce your hours of work.

The Biggest Tax EVER in Australia

I'm not surprised, I personally took great pleasure in seeing Bill Shorten being taken on by Mr & Mrs Average. He was sooooo frustrated that the audience wasn't buying his spin. :D I never cease to be amazed how the Labor pollies sprout on about crap and think we actually believe their spin...
