    Buying in Reservoir

Fawkner is not a bad suburb and there are more ways to get to the city than Sydney road. That said Reservoir isnt to bad either but you need to buy in the right areas. I lived in kingsbury for a while and walked to the train (about 20 minutes) but i dont much like the epping train line...

pool- cheaper to fence or fill?

As has been mentioned you would need to work out if you can have the pool empty i know that your not meant to drain inground pools as they can collapse inwards or underground water can push them out of the ground. Just something to consider if you were thinking the cellar or empty options

Epping- Cooper Street and New Footscray market

Things to consider with epping is that there is lots of land around still being released. If you could get a spot about 10 minutes walk from the train station its probably not going to be to bad. Epping has a bit of a bad name. My suggestion would be greensborough, bundoora, watsonia at the...

    Cf+

Horsham has some cash flow positive properties. A bit of work required on some of them and you can have a nice property quite cheap. That said its to far away for me to be looking there

    Indoor blinds

In our PPOR we got dual roller blinds A blockout blind and a transperant blind. It works really well and looks really good and has reduced the heat in the room a bit as well. We did just install ceiling insulation so that could be making as much of the difference.

    Which would you buy?

For me How many beds/baths in the older house How big is the block of land on the newer house. The newer house looks like it has a better rental return, less initial investment and no renovation work. Same distance from CBD (if they are same suburbs then i would go the newer one)

    Greensborough

I live in Watsonia one street across from Orana drive and know the Greensborough area well. There are a number of larger blocks on the side of the hill which can go cheaper because of the slope they are on so be careful of that. There is the upgrade to the ring road (From the transport...

Fencing - colorbond vs treated pine?

If your only replacing one side of your fence then i suggest going with what the rest of your fences have. Color bond doesn't match that well up against the other timber fences you might have. That said, if you are not worried about the other points a new color bond fence would go great if...
