    End of an Era

aw man - this is like that moment when your favourite sitcom ends. but sadder, like the last episode of Roseanne or something. thanks so much to the Somers' for all their efforts and generosity hosting such a valuable resource.

Beach front property for only $16,000!

it's a fukcing caravan....not a house. leasehold land - $16k provides you with the right to occupy. still - better value the the mobile homes that were offered for sale in Buffalo...

i trust that's tongue in cheek....there are a lot of people struggling out there because of poor education (life and books) and trying to get by. it's not all episodes of houso's.

    Perth Property Market updates

we as investors know that - everyone thinks their value will go down because some folks built a house for the golf course view they were told might not stay.

    Perth Property Market updates

most petitions had no base in law - generally arguments surrounding traffic and noise and values etc. profit margins aren't that great - it's the bigger picture of staged sales over a period of time that keeps a business in business. traffic issues solved with intersection upgrades as required...

    Perth Property Market updates

Easy tiger.... That land was private. Council didn't want to buy it for POS so it was put up for sale by the Galatti family. If Handle Property Group didn't buy it, someone else would have. It was identified in "Perth & Peel @ 3.5m" for urban infill - the government want it infill as a matter...

Perth houses are currently as affordable as they were in 2003 and 1996

that's a valid point - although UBER still requires someone to have the cash to use it in the first place....

Corner should be okay - could do a 2x2 footprint and put a third bedroom as part of a loft - just timber framed, timber staircase etc. would be something different to put to market. A loft like that would be quite cheap to do, especially all trusswork.

    RBA to cut another 1%?

it won't stop them, no. my point is all these little reasons and arguments based on the "sum of its parts" are totally irrelevant once the bigger international markets move. if the US raise rates, expect ours to fall further. currency wars have a very dangerous "knife edge" turning point - a...

    Clueless unsupportive mother

my folks are pretty clueless when it comes to investment. i try to show them the light, but horse to water and all that. i just don't bring it up any more, i don't discuss what i do - no point.

sanj demands a top-notch spec and decent architectural outcomes (not just a nice facade). i daresay this point of difference is well noticed and valued within a marketplace full of same-same.

+2 - no argument here. appropriate density to protect the remaining suburban character of Perth.

    RBA to cut another 1%?

if the US raise rates 15 basis points, watch this discussion become irrelevant overnight.

LOL @ ars#hat! Ellenbrook line doesn't just serve Ellenbrook though - also The Vines, Henley Brook and Dayton (most R30-R60 through there).

terrible ideas, Linda. I speak from experience with the Connolly Dr / Burns Beach Rd intersection being hell - but a simple ring-route peak hour CAT service could save more headaches than a stupid freeway extension.

...which is why you would choose an area like City Beach / Dalkieth etc which has a preventative R10 / R12.5 zoning. my point is from investment, most POVs are from living. finding the balance between where you want to live and a 'good investment' is generally mutually exclusive - but it can...
