I do not understand this. The question of this thread was, How much net income do you need? What has tax got to do with it?

This question does depend on what ones goals are for retirement. We have been so busy working hard for the last 5 years, don't get a chance for holidays or spending money. We could spend alot more money once semi-retired, doing all the things we want to do, rather than what we spend now...
