It's a bend for heaven sakes. you can't possibly know the speed limit is set too high until you are in it and fighting to stay on the correct side of the road

no. it is reasonable to approach a corner in clear, dry conditions at the posted speed limit on the assumption that the road is engineered to actually be driven on at that speed.

developing that thought further, there is one road I know of that posts 60 as you head into a corner. If you do 60 you struggle to keep the car on the road. In this environment where all responsibility is advocated to the authorities and in the belief that "if you do the posted sign limits you...

yes I can see that happening. At the Dunsborough boat ramp a friend once pointed out to me.... something to the tune of 19 signs telling you what you can't do. He had just come back from overseas and said it was quite confronting the amount of control and nannying here

ha, saw straight thru that trap. Of course if it can never be safe to speed then vehicles should cut power at 110.

should ADR's restrict vehicle speeds to 110km?

agreed. heading to the south west it is essential, can guarantee at least one camera...peak times I think I have counted about 8

because to achieve that the driver is fixating on the wrong issue - it's not the number on the speedo that matters, people need to think for themselves but they can't, you can drive like a moron and so long as you don't exceed the posted limit no one will die.

not sure how you arrived at that conclusion from that statement anyway both is the answer, you have to be. speed cameras and hopeless drivers are just another road hazard to deal with the problem with the ideology that 'speed kills' is that people assume the reverse holds true - and that is...

ha ha. Doesn't bother me so much I just feel bad for the kids, I was worried they would be out of control, they were so dam boring I felt like saying for petes sake do some shots and go crazy or something you only live once. have noticed that with a lot of younger people they are pretty weak and...

Lol absolutely, it's just the way it is here. I love the ones on the freeway that just randomly brake... what is happening in your head to do that?

    Unmarked Police motorbikes (Perth)

no, my spirit has been doused by do gooders and the nanny state

Perth drivers are so bad that really it's like dodgem cars. I hope you aren't one of these people in the right lane doing 20 under tutting as people under take them?? "we should all do 20km in built up hours... if it just saves 1 life it will all be worth it. research shows...."

actually it was... every time I went out? one local was pinged last year by 2 cops. she saw them at the stop sign so she stopped, went to go and they pulled her over. she said she saw them so obviously tried to everything right and made sure she stopped, they said yes we agree you stopped...

depends... couldn't drive down the road at dunsborough during leavers without being RBTd at least once. massive nanny state over reaction to a few kids getting around, sending all the locals nuts. no wonder the kids go to bali and get high on whatever and end up in jail or raped or worse

no it's the constant checking of the speedo, the fixed cameras, making sure you don't go 1km over the limit (because we know what a public menace that would create on such a narrow windy road like the graham farmer or the mitchell) - I spend a great deal of my attention scanning the road side...
