People will drive when the rents are halved for a short drive. same happened in karratah when people use to commute from wickham etc.... it has the effect of inreasing rents and values int hse towns as well.     well a 4x2 is more like $1.25m+, but i think it would apply to anything. it is cheaper to buy than rent so if a OO can buy a house without a lease it is seen as a good thing

    and the Burrup Fertiliser plant. the economy is large and diverse the main point is replacement cost. $400k wouldn't even pay for a 2 bedroom house to be constructed up there.
