That payroll debacle was worthwhile, they found the missing $1,000! Did that $1.2 billion get funnelled back into the economy or overseas I wonder...

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

That's good news, I'd move back if there were more jobs. And not just 1, being able to move around again would be nice.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

I think it's great if you have properties in areas that have gone up. Just beginning - where were you at the end of 2013? http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/new-south-wales-buyers-propping-up-brisbanes-housing-market/story-fnihsrf2-1226762129823 And did you sleep through 2014? ;)

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Yeah, I'm not sure what will do it, but it will turn the corner eventually. You could be right, interstate migration could help increase jobs too. If the lending restrictions (current or potentially added restrictions if they don't see the result they're looking for) slow markets in Sydney, it...

That's already happened in some areas.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

I don't know if it should be that close to Sydney, but it's not going to close the gap more until there are more jobs and population growth.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Probably perfect timing for that area 18 months ago, well done. There has been significant growth in most inner North/Northwest suburbs. Still some good buys if you know what you're looking for.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

It's not a debate, you said "First . there are reasons why so many people are saying it ." You can either list them or not, pretty black and white.

Same situation here, IP is a bit easier if you're flexible on suburb, but difficult when you're trying to get a potential PPOR in a particular suburb.

I guess I would have the same access to them as anyone from free resources, unless someone has it from a more reliable paid resource? Moving to Brisbane in 2004, don't have anecdotal from before this time.

So for your first point, do you agree with these reasons, and can you list them?

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Saying I'm wrong in large bold text doesn't make it honest. I'm posting actual numbers. I didn't create these numbers. You might not like the numbers for whatever reason, but that doesn't make me wrong. So you're reading my posts with someone else in mind, and reading things into it that...

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

In any of the actual numbers, I can't find anything that jumps out that would answer the thread title with a yes at the moment: Time on market (houses): Canberra 31 days Hobart 56 days Adelaide 61 Brisbane 64 days Average vendor discount (houses): Canberra 3.3% Brisbane 5.5%...

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Since you had 3 posts, I assumed the reason you missed that link from 2 pages ago was because you are a new SS member. As above, for the populations, you don't think 175 for current Brisbane compares with 445 for Sydney in 2010?

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Brisbane - 175 auctions. Correct. That's the exact number we were quoting above. Brisbane average 2010: 109 Sydney typical 2010: 445 Melbourne typical 2010: 580 So yes, you are right. They are all well above their 'typical' or 'average' from 2010. For the populations, you don't think 175 for...
