    It's a fair bet that the sales person got a bit shoddy after Julian told them he wasn't going to pay? Fair and reasonable in one respect, and hopefully they won't want to go harder at him than simply being a bit rude when demanding what is rightfully theirs.

    I can't believe where this thread has headed. The guy went in to buy some products, and was prepared to pay the amount owed. The cashier rang up the wrong amount, sure, but the goods cost $X. Now, we are talking about lawyers and letters of apology and so forth. FFS. PAY-THE-BILL...

    I am a business owner, but also a consumer. If it was me who had the error in my favour as you have - I would pay them. The amount of sales required to recoup that lost income is more than the income itself.
