Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

Same here; a whole family block of hazelnut Cadbury to myself. It was harder than the normal size, but I managed it. 2 glasses of whine helped. Had a bit of left elbow and jaw soreness this morning. Gunna do a split routine tonight - bucket of M&M's, and 3 glasses of wine with my right hand.

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

No doubt. Everyone has lost weight - even her - despite her slothfulness. Low calorie intake/lack of energy sounds like a good example of another excuse though. :D , because there are a few others on the show (I've watched every episode to date) who still continue to do a bit each day; and...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

See; to me even that - unless you are an athlete on a mission for sporting success - is not needed. In saying that, if you combine calorie counting with a decent variation of some serious exercise programs then you will get there. You never need to go hungry in your life and can still...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

I'm totally with you on the exercise regime - good on you!! My point was more about the diet; Seems to me that many folks spend a lot of (unnecessary) angst on what to/what not to eat in their lives... From my experience - yes; no scientific stats again, Sanj - one only has to eat most...

Waaay too anal about it all for me. Here's an idea (unless you are a vegan, etc)... How about eat a large variety of stuff - a bit of red meat now and then, a bit of chicken and fish throughout the week, maybe some pork occassionally too, some salami, ham, bacon every so often, a fair...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

no, no, no, no - wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong. I heard a chick on ABC radio today talking about obesity being caused by a genetic disorder or some shoat. Key word being GENETIC. So there. It's amazing; back in the '50's and '60's the amount of fat people could almost be counted on one hand on...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

aah, yes....Xmas pudding and copious drinks. That'd do it. :D A fairly beserk half hour session on an "elyptoid" or bike riding machine will get about 500 calories off from memory.

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

I would put it to you that there were plenty of people addicted to food back in the '60's - or go back as far as you like. That's nothing new; just like ciggy or drink addiction isn't new. We can try to put the blame onto something like addiction as an excuse I suppose...just like those folk...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

It's not rocket science. Watch almost any piece of film footage from around say; 1965 and earlier....almost never a fat person in any. Now, watch almost any piece of film footage on the news where there are groups of yer average everyday folk involved; mostly beached whales. The norm...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

When we lived in the US we had a terrific gym at our apartment complex. They had 3 really good quality elyptical trainers, and I went on them 5 days per week for 30 mins. They are fantastic compared to running (which I love but my body doesn't - shin splints). My goal was to burn off 500...

Understand the math ~ Diet vs Exercise

I would have thought the solution to losing weight was simple; a combination of a balanced diet and regular exercise. Calorie intake needs to be below the requirement per day to maintain weight for your age etc of course. Too boring (and too hard), and no money in it....you have to "buy"...
