Why not simply have a toss for the first game, then alternate after this for each Test? Or; the way the players carry on with sledging and "death stares" and all this other cr@p (a gentleman's game, right?)...they can just have an all-in brawl at the start of play on Day 1 of Test 1, and last...

First; Then; Instead of giving them the ho-hum when they succeed, shouldn't we be celebrating and applauding their success by saying; "Fantastic centuries by the batsmen". Especially after they've had a run of poor form; takes a lot of character to come back so well from that.

I'm not a cricket expert. Played as a kid a bit, but the rest is armchair expert stuff. :eek::D Why don't they move the failing top order batters down to say; 3 and 4, and move the 3 and 4's up? And, why do they never force the gun bowlers to get some decent level of skill as batters...
