had a quick read of your requirements - have you tried a SUMIF? if you run another column next to dates with the following formula in it, it will convert them into months: =TEXT(B1,"MMM-YY") Which as an example would output JAN-10 Then you can do a SUMIF on JAN-10 to get monthly totals...
