Thanks Pantotango, Is organ oil like decking oil? Mostly want to preserve the palings so the wood doesn;t dry out and show gaps between.

This question may be a little off the painting theme but I have no idea of what to use on my new fence. Just erected a new boundary fence, 7ft high, and used 3'' hardwood palings direct from the sawmill. Had visions of painting it in the future but the colours and paterns on the palings...
