I am a carpenter who does framing for a living. Personally if you want to make a statement in a certain area I would do 2.7 ceilings in all bedrooms and bathrooms etc and in the kitchen, living and dining rooms I would do raked ceilings. It would only cost an extra 15-20k to do asked ceilings...- Brian84
