    Perth - madness.

I've always found it sorta strange that some ppl (primarily non-investors) sell off their PPOR's at the top of the market because they're "expensive". Problem is, in majority of cases, that they'd presumably have to buy another PPOR to live in, which would also be "expensive". Perhaps they are...

I would say almost everyone in Australia would tip a rise over the next month or 2. They would then therefore be acting with this in mind with their investing decisions. It's therefore already factored into the prices IMHO.

Very well put Peter, couldnt have put it better myself. I very much doubt that affordability issues will cease the madness. There is no difference in affordability between Perth and any other Australian city. There is (i'm betting) however a psychological barrer - when a certain level is...

This is someone's post from a share traders forum, he thinks that people capitalising on Perth's boom is unethical. But if people werent capitalising on it, it wouldnt continue- No?

I think alot of Perth's "extended" growth is based on China's boom. I say extended because the first few years of it was natural growth following the rest of the country's cycle, but now it's the rocket's supplementary booster :p The money / economy being generated because of the resources to...

They aren't, I was just hoping it'd sound better. I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or just bizarre timing. But the apartment that I'm renting, has just been put up for sale for $210k. 2Brm, Across the road from the beach, 10mins (in my car, perhaps 15 in another's :p) to the city. Cosmetic...

As a Perthite now living in Adelaide, I feel qualified to answer that question :p I live in Henley Beach, which I'd say is the closest beach to the city - similar to say City Beach in Perth. You wont get a house here under 250k! On the Esplanade they're over a mil, a couple of streets back...

lol @ coolbellup. Most ppl said the same of Clarkson, the old "Balga by the sea" comments still remain with me. Just the other day I heard someone talking about coolbellup, then someone else interject with "Isn't that where all the aboriginals live?". I couldn't help by laugh inside. You guys...

Yesterday, I was in contact with the real estate who sold me the above-mentioned property 2 years ago as I am considering swapping the property management to his agency. He claims that Clarkson is currently going up at 10k per month, but avoided questions relating to 'for how much longer'. hehe.

Thanks Mark and Pete. AUSPROP: LOE is probably beyond the scope of this thread as there are 1000's of posts here on Somersoft throwing around the pros and cons of such a concept. However, I do subscribe to a similar line of thought that Pete has described. Cheers,

    Perth - madness.

Hi, Just thought I'd share with the group that a bank recently valued a property in Clarkson in Perth for 370k without any 'assistance / pursuasion' from me at all. It was purchased for 197k in March 2 years ago. So I guess the billion dollar question is, will it continue, and for how...
