There are good, bad, honest and corrupt cops. A decent cop is worth his (or her) weight in gold and it's a shame their salaries don't nearly reflect that. It's a damn hard job and one I certainly couldn't do. Better salaries would, to some extent, discourage corruption and general 'badness'...
