Us locals keep saying the same thing! Until the work on Curtis Island winds up I wouldn't take to much notice of property prices increasing in Gladstone.. Unless another project starts that's going to employ a few thousand people there is going to be a lot of people out of work.

It's heading in the right direction but we are still far from being out of the woods. 1300 properties on the maket for a population of around 60,000 is still a lot of properties. And we haven't seen the full efect of the Curtis island wined down yet. Bring back 2009 levels!! ;)

That's what I'm hoping too David.. Here and chinchilla a lot of people have been burnt and are being burnt hopefully these places get a bad reputation for investing..

Your are very lucky I just renewed mine at $40 less pw.. Its not getting any better and unless a major development gets the go ahead in the next 6 months things are only going to get worse.

Yes your right I have listened to spruikers and bought in both of those places. I done my DD at the time and thought that everything added up. I bought well before the writing was on the wall. Unfortunately because of my inexperience only been in the game for 5 or so years. I took for granted...

There are two Bechtel workers car parks close to where I live at Boyne island. Both would have at least 40 cars maybe more. Once the construction stage finishes its more then likely these guys and girls will not have jobs and be forced to move on. That will mean a lot more vacant houses and...
