Thought I would bring this up again, I am still looking and learning, have some time on my side with this. Did some research on Blue Nile, US where you can buy diamonds at wholesale prices, however not sure I am at all comfortable buying without viewing. Went onto pricescape, also good forum...

That is so interesting, I did not realise the cut was as crucial, I thought it was the colour? Do you know what is considered the best cut, by cut we are talking princess, round etc. is that right???

Very nice. My last setting was princess, and that was also lovely setting. I watch antique road show where the cushion setting was quite popular, but it did not show off the diamond, we now know how to achieve this to maximise the sparkler.

Insurance, many say this is expensive and it can be but I use GIO and they are very reasonable, just have to have the valuation, description and have it valued every couple of years to keep it up to date.

Secrets. http://www.secrets-shhh.com/ Why not, some of their designs are absolutely amazing. Also, some time ago now, but I read that this store/franchise was one of the most successful in Australia, I am not surprised.

Nice.:) My aunty/uncle have a jewellery store in Padua, Veneto, but they don't specialise in diamonds. I just got back from Hong Kong, I really should have checked out diamonds, I suspect cheaper.

The last diamond ring I purchased was Princess cut, D, VS with a GIA Report, interesting, I did not realise they were the best reports. I would definitely not go to the chain stores, I don't even think they stock the size I want and yes, I know no quality, would not bother buying a diamond...
