    If it's not a boom, then what is it? I purchased in Doonside 2010 $315K, bank value last week at $440,000 (40% gain), it has not been renovated, same condition when purchased, however I believe with a minor reno I could achieve much higher price. MTR

    Yes, this is true. I was ready to buy up in Syd again last July, but I had to make a choice as Perth was also running hot, this is my own backyard so I jumped into this market and it has paid off. Perhaps it will be Melbs turn to start rising, I hope so, this is where I plan to develop...

    Thanks everyone for feedback. Looks like it comes down to finding my own data on sales and presenting these to the valuer or just sit back and wait. I am not in a huge rush so hoping in 3 months a different story with value coming in at what I would expect. I will post here to let you guys...
