    That's a good point, it's something one needs to be aware of going into a non-legal highset home. Whether the risk vs reward is worthwhile going into the purchase. I would love to hear if anyone has had insurance claims on highsets for damages to non-legal height bedrooms and what the results were.

    I wouldn't get too hung up on this, it's really rare to get legal height and if it is, the price will reflect it. If your highset has potential to get good yield, that's good enough for me. Just have all the tenants on one lease.

    It was a stinker! Interesting, that's good to know. I only went to 4 open homes so smaller sample size. The deals did look good on paper but two of them turned out to be duds so glad went up there in person.
