    Carbon tax

You couldn't make it up if you tried. Slightly off topic but did you read about the other deal they did yesterday with Malaysia, we pay to send 800 asylum seekers to Malaysia and we pay to house them, medical, etc, for ever, and we also pay to have another 4000 asylum seekers shipped to...

You don't need to listen to a Czech president to work out that this climate change tax is all a conspiracy by left wing fabian socialists and watermelons to redistribute wealth.

I think she is hell bent on destroying the Australian economy. When you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth.

I believe the one I can trust, that doesn't have a vested interest in getting a easy job or easy cash. I also trust my judgment that if the water heater is cold it isn't necessarily due to an inbuilt thermostat and the best way to fix it is with a complete new solar water heater system when it...

So if it was said over 3 and a half years ago you would say it is not relevant eh? In which case why do you keep harping back to what Howard said 10 years ago?

So the millions given to the UN for climate change has nothing to do with the carbon tax? You could run as a labor MP with that crap. Of course it has and the $600M, that is just the start. I know quite a few people in Brisbane who could do with some of that $600 million rather than a bunch of...

    Carbon tax

Australia is giving, going to give about 10% of the money it collects in Carbon Tax to the UN but because it is not specifically stated that it comes from the Carbon Tax and is "fungible" it could come from any tax the government collects. Maybe some of it will come from the Flood Levy or the...

    Carbon tax

So the government is going to give the UN $600 million a year for two years out of carbon tax it hasn't yet collected and you think that after the fast start they are going to stop giving our money away when they do start collecting carbon tax?

If that is the case why don't they convert the old coal power stations to burn gas instead of coal. Presumably the turbines would still be OK. All they need to do is change the burners. That must be one hell of a lot cheaper than starting 10 new bureaucracies and buggering up the economy. And it...

This is what worries me. When this happens and temperatures start to drop through the natural cycle we will be getting all the pollies saying how wonderful they were to introduce the tax and save the planet.

    Carbon tax

There will be a larger loss to the government than is being stated. Regardless of the hugh bureaucracy, 10% of the tax is being paid over to the UN's climate change fund. This was something Rudd agreed when he was PM.
