Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

All good stuff above So I guess, in the end, we can agree the whole change was botched. If it really was a considered approach then we would have seen the numbers and voted for it or against it. It would have defined Labor V Libs, pro V cons. For instance: we could have put a Carbon...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Good Morning Firstly, I would like to acknowledge Hi Equity and Dazz posts above. Both put good points and are courteous. Well done to all of us!;) Hi Equity, I agree with some of your comments and especially on humanity's impact on the world. I also believe we cannot continue to grow...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

THAT is my point HI Equity. The carbon tax is waste of time unless the rest of the world applies it. Surely you accept that? When Europe is paying $9 a tonne and China is refusing to even pay to fly over in the air over Europe, or actions only weaken us economically. And when our mines run...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

The trouble is in China they will burn as much as they like. That is the REAL issue. If by some miracle there was a world order and everyone in the works agree to the same Carbon Tax and it was enforced ( yes Fantasy Land) I would sign up now. Instead we are sending job overseas...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

But it not an ETS. It is proposed to be one but what we have is a flat Tax killing our economy already. And what we may get is not here and when/if we get it.... will anyone in manufacturing be left? Peter 14.7

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Like the rest of the world. Personally we will never unite worldwide unless: God arrives and tells us to pull our head in. Aliens arrive and tell us they want this place. It is not in our nature to share. If it was we would all live in the same apartment, forgoing space for quality...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

I disagree. I think there was strong support for the solution Gillard said, which was, Labor would call a community forum of experts to come with joint solution. Economists, greens, scientists stc.... To me , that made sense as first step, with the view the outcome would go to vote at next...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Whatever they were? Agree I think Labor will say in hindsight "it was good idea at the time". And the Greens may lose power but not votes in 2013. If anything the rusted on green voter will say, see, we did do something when we had the power. Peter 14.7

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Good Point Dazz and you insider may be right. We assume Labor wants CT because it is policy. No... it was price they paid to get Gov. Considering it affects Labor voters jobs (factory) most, they probably really hate it. Dead Rat exactly...;) But if they do oppose, a double dissolution of...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

And my point is consumers can choose to not spend and in doing so, save money, not incur costs, and not use carbon so not pay tax. I think that is fairer. As a business I an pass GST on to clients but the final price reflects what people are wiling to pay inc GST. If I price my self at $100...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Ausprop for PM! This is such a good idea. As a professional I have to charge GST and you know what...the system works, it is very simple. I cost more than I earn i get it back. If I earn more than my costs I pay it. And, despite myths otherwise, it is very hard to get around using black...

Getting rid of the Carbon Tax

Agree. I actually want action on climate change but did not appreciate being told one thing before and then another after the election. It is not democracy and to me, that is more important than a carbon tax. Explain to me why it is good and then let me decide at an election. Regards...
