Well there you go! rugrat was right. I get a copy of my credit file every year and I've never had one entry for one of these auto-credit limit updates.....and I've been getting them for nearly 30 years ;)

If it is the bank offering you a new pre-approved increase then these usually do not hit your credit file. You just sign to say you can afford the increase and pop it back into the envelope that they paid the postage on.:) If it is you applying, then it probably will hit your credit file.
