    Low voltage side of a transformer is a different story.....you will find tho that to work on the 240/250v AC side they will need a restricted licence. Even to put a 3 pin plug top on the cord.

    Why should you :confused: They (the sparkies) have to abide by the SAA wiring rules and governing authority regs. If you suspect otherwise then its up to you to bring it to their governing authorities attention for intervention. No matter what industry there will always be a few bad apples that...

    No need to be sorry to me. IMHO in this situation its better to abide by the governing safety regs than end up facing a coronal enquiry feeling sorry for yourself.

    Being a sparky I can definitely tell you that you need to use sparky - its illegal otherwise, not to mention very very dangerous.
