Wow factors to add value to a house

Inlaws had stick-down solid jarrah (over concrete) that needed a whole room replacing when their dishwasher leaked. Now that was a debacle.

We were thiiiiis close to getting blackbutt ... one place had it on special, but I liked the spotted gum more ... crazy colour variation, we've got everything from bright pink to quite dark brown. Looks fantastic. Had it down 2 weeks so talk to me in 3 years about how well it wears ;)

See after having laminate I wouldn't do that ... the wearing down to the white under the printing and the huge swelling when it gets wet has spooked me off the stuff for life, as well as it being so easy to chip off the printed layer - the engineered timber you've got 5mm before the colour...

MIL has miele everything. Its actually put me off the brand, she constantly complains about how hard they are to use, how often they break etc, but she won't change brands as she has to have The Best even though it looks really weird having fancy european appliances retrofitted into an awful 70s...

Don't overcapitalise. Got inlaws who are great at overcapitalisation, they have the nicest little house and before that the nicest little unit but their mortgage is always at the absolute maximum it can possibly be. There's a big difference between what you can do to a top-end house for sale...

Erm, you just described the toilets in all the KFCs I've been in lately. Lovely and modern but all the appliances are broken/vandalised. Yes, I'm a KFC junkie. Lots of public bathrooms are so incredibly modern you can't find the damn taps (or the sink), because they are some weirdass dark brown...

Heh, you just described our oven :D Don't forget the garden. Who cares that your shower lights up if the house looks crap from the street?
