IMHO - You are stressing yourself!!!
If the cat is weeing on floorboards you will be able to smell the 'urine odour' without getting down on the floor.
The odour of urine INCREASES as it comes into contact with air IMHO.
I would expect the kitty litter area eg. laundry...
