    was going through some old papers and found Suncorp's rates from September 2008 5yr fixed - 9.30 Standard variable - 9.49 looks like we'll have plenty of time to fix when margin between the two disappears again... ... but then, why would we?

    yes i'm saying they can be wrong the fact that it's moving up now, doesn't mean it's not going to crash tomorrow. even if you look at your graph you will see that there were times when it rose, followed by the falls ;) i wouldn't trust such indicators too much

    you are analyzing the graph now, when you already know what happened. what were predictions back in say March 2008? Did reality agree with them? :)

    i think in current climate it doesn't make sense to fix for 3 years you will either end up coming off fixed period in the middle of high interest rates (which is what you are trying to avoid?) or it won't move much within 3 years in which case you lose money simple if the rates don't move...

    I'm not with CBA. Plus the were 0.1% cheaper than everyone else so makes sense they increase it.
