Yes I couldn't agree more Pete. The only downside for us has been the long wait for titles.

The higher prices for residential blocks simply convinces me even more that the affordabilty answer lies in smaller parcels of land and good insulation in the homes being built:). Makes my 350 and 400 sqm blocks easy to sell. Roll on higher density!! Massive water guzzling lawns are over...

Theres lots of government money being spent virtually everywhere you look. I think its amusing too that 12 or so months ago all the newspapers were filled with stories about the southern rail line over spend. Now you never seem to see the rail line being talked about in a negative way. I guess...

We drove through it as well. It was really buzzing. Fabulous to see the Swan Valley so alive. I grew up there so its quite a change seeing it look so trendy and attractive. Never looked like that in the 1970's.

:D That is so cool!!!! It sure beats working for a living doesn't it? I saw Ellen Brook for the first time today in fourteen months. It's fair to say I was gobsmacked by the progress of development out there. I could not believe they created that town out of..... nothing much. Doesn't...

Must admit whenever I see an Anreps sign I dismiss it in my mind and think "ah its overpriced". I wouldn't feel very comfortable dealing directly with the owner either. I think a few people feel like I do.

Perhaps the seller was happy to downsize to a modest $10 mill property so he could use $4 mill to fund some lifestyle choices. Its the new thing to do. :-)

It is very hard to pay much attention to the constant "I wouldn't invest in Perth now ...its set to burst" etc etc when all around you can see evidence of changed zonings, growth thats so fast and attractive emerging subdivisions. Its not even as though these new homes are carbon copies of each...

I only just found out last night that the Lansdale Nursery has now gone!! They had the closing down sale not so long ago. That was another prized business with dedicated workers too. I'm gobsmacked that these places can disappear so darn fast. There must have been a swoop on the area by...

Its a bit closer to Wanneroo Rd than Lansdale Gardens. About 1 k back from the Wanneroo Rd. I've just checked on "ZoomIn" and its definately called Wangara. Its a bit of a shock sometimes to see how developed areas have become when you haven't been there for a few months.

What happened to my nursery??? I went out today to Gnangara Rd just off Wanneroo Rd and got such a shock with the building work going on. I think its the borders of Madelay/Wangara/Lansdale?I was at the nursery less than 6 months ago and it was truly a thriving business where they were...

Residex aren't the only ones calculating the median price in Perth. REIWA will finalise their figures next month and they are expecting the median to be 420K not 406K . 12 months ago it was supposed to be $297,000. See the link to the West Australian article...

Must admit I've been finding it irritating too the way people assume Perthites haven't got a clue about the big picture. Yes we know about global influences on local economies. We are aware that we are riding the crest of a boom. No one can really predict how long that wave will be. We've...

Ah but alas Kenneth, its too late! I already took that plunge and I can't stay out of it now. I'm committed. Two are now sold off plan in the Wanneroo area and I have just begun the same process with another block. Early days there. And I'm not unhappy about investing now even though the...

    Perth - madness.

Well its taken such a long time to get to the end of this thread having only discovered the site in recent days. Such a lot to think about. Do I invest in Perth and hold my IP's and risk losses? Or, do I leave Perth well alone in this possibly "peaked" market? I'd like to think there may be a...
