    I spoke with them, they acknowledge that their windows have a lower accoustic reduction rating than Certainteed's, hence the Certainteed path. How much cheaper do you think they would be, out of interest?

    Sure. Approx $10k fitted for: - 2300 x 1750 window - 2360 x 920 door - 1300 x 700 window - 860 x 2160 window These are only the windows on the street side, am leaving the others as is. Quote is for the STC 41 windows with "gassing".

    Thank you all, and sorry for the delay in writing back. I've decided to bite the bullet and get Certainteed or Miglas. Getting some other renovations done so will see what the builder can get a better deal on.

    Thanks lolipss. How much, if any, did the the stop noise reduce the noise by? Did it make any difference? Did you look at any other solutions? I can hear passing traffic in the bedroom at night, and its a moderartely busy street so at night when its very quiet you can hear each...
