Right on Handy Andy, Nobody has mentioned reducing 'impulse buying' ! I don't skimp on food & wine but try to make dinner at home as much as possible because it is healthier, often tastes better and I don't get charged corkage on the wine. I have friends that skimp on 'everyday' items...
