Nope, Apple TV has apps for most major sports leagues. About $80 for a full season I think. That's probably one month or so of Foxtel sports package? Unless you watch lots of different leagues (say more than 4 or 5), you're better of using Apple TV/Netflix.

Plus you can use iTunes to "rent" new release movies as well. If you buy a American gift card online, you can access their American store and get movies earlier. Usually $5 to rent a movie for the day

If you have Apple TV, you can also buy apps for AFL and American sports leagues (plus others maybe, I haven't used them so don't know the full details) that allow you to watch a full season's worth of games. So no excuse to use Foxtel anymore :p
