    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Excellent report! Where can I go for regular updates? I found this one a few weeks back. I particularly like the profiles on all the various LICs. http://www.wamfunds.com.au/WAM/media/WAMMedia/LIC%20Research/Baillieu-Holst-LIC-Report-April-15.pdf?ext=.pdf

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Seems like all the major LICs are trading at significant premiums relative to the recent drop. Time to pick up some VAS perhaps?

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

I recently added BKI to my portfolio for some midcap exposure. Still need some more convincing to consider the higher MER and riskier nature of smallcap LICs

Personally I'm comfortable with AFI ARG MLTs exposure to resources...i believe they're underweight relative to the index? I took all the good parts of his book and chose to ignore his anti property anti resources viewpoints.

*cracks out the popcorn. This gonna b good! Just finished reading Peter Thornhill's book. Invaluable resource and highly recommend it. Wish I had come across it sooner! Whilst he doesn't go into LICs in the book I did watch an interview of him where he said that a large portion of his...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Yes I've been buying a parcel almost every month since late 2012 and I've developed the mindset to ignore the volatility of daily share prices. Whenever there's a dip in the market I spend the same in dollars but end up with more shares. An example that solidified it for me is, say if I'm the...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Hi All, Thanks for all the wonderful posts/discussions and sorry for taking so long to respond. Some of the posts were off topic so I kind of lost track/interest at one point. But I've since read up on some other threads (e.g. keithj's awesome thread) and an awesome thread on LICs on...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

I don't believe I can outsmart the market so that's why I don't want to trade. But I think I can make money by being in the market, just need help coming up with a strategy that minimises risk and has tax advantages. I've been reading blogs like www.getrichslowly.org and...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

totally agree! that's why I was thinking of getting into exchange traded funds (index funds) with low management fee for diversification and to take the trading part completely out of the picture. i want to apply the same strategy as property, which is to ramp up my total asset base and let...

    Achieving wealth through shares...how?

Hi All, Hoping someone might be able to point me to some materials on achieving wealth through investing in the share market. Ever since i read Yardney's book back in 2007, I've been hooked on property investing and now have a sizeable property portfolio. His book helped me realise it was...
