Why doesn't HSBC offer offset accounts? This means I can't have split loans with a portion fixed and the balance at variable with offset.

It appears that AMP is now offering an additional 0.15% off their advertised fixed rates, to members of certain professional bodies (eg. accounting bodies) or affiliates. So the 1-year and 2-year fixed rates, for example, is both 4.84% after this discount, and 3-year rate is 5.04% to these members.

Apparently not. I spoke to them at 131312 and they have made no effort in keeping me. Firstly I was told there is a new policy since 2012 that new IO loans will need formal sign-off by a financial adviser. Secondly they will not match competitor's 4.99% 2-year rate on IO loan. When asked...

Say I have a 50/50 variable/fixed home loan. During the fixed term, can I request for a bank valuation (same bank) to then possibly access any increase in equity to partially fund the purchase of another IP, without affecting the fixed home loan terms?

I checked nab website today and noticed that the 2-year IO in advance fixed home loan rate is now 4.79% with Choice package. I'm pretty sure it was 4.89% last week. http://www.nab.com.au/wps/wcm/connect/nab/nab/home/personal_finance/6/1?urid=1365379538723

I was told by nab that their turnaround is approx 1 week. There are forms that need to be signed and they will do a formal credit check again. Apparently if I ask for split loans (a portion fixed a portion variable) it will take even longer. I so wish I was with CBA.

Thanks. I saw that but there was no mention if the rate also applies to IO only repayments. Thanks also to Aaron_C who clarified. So it does look like nab is less competitive by charging 0.1% extra for IO compared to P&I.

Thanks. Basically I'm keen to fix only 50% of my loan amount and retain the remaining 50% at variable rate so that I can continue to utilise the 100% offset account (linked to the variable loan account) to minimise my interest payments. I'm opting for IO purely due to tax reasons. Does...

Does anyone know why nab's 2 year fixed rate for interest only in arrears is higher at 5.09% compared to P&I which is 4.99%? I believe that there is no difference between the two repayment methods at CBA for the 2 year fixed term.
