    Perhaps it’s better to have the trust take out the loans (drawing on the IP equity) – then it wouldn’t be necessary to gift and loaned funds to the trust and loose the tax deductions. Am I on the right track? Is it possible/sensible to use a PPOR or IP in your own name as security for a loan...

    Hi Keith, That’s an aspect of asset protection that I had never considered. Are you able to expand on this? If someone if having a crack at you’re assets, do the debts go with them? Thanks - BJ
