Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

As it turns out, I was not on an automatic rollover. My monthly plan was finished. The message should have said that my phone was about to expire. And it should not have been sent at an ungodly hour of the morning. I could have been given a warning a day or two before it expired. And it also...

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

It was sent out in error. It may have been that the message was meant to inform me of my monthly rollover. But I certainly don't appreciate messages at 12:50AM. With two daughters overseas, I instantly react to messages while I'm asleep, and it can take me a lot of time to get back to sleep.

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

After Kogan mobile's demise I went with Aldi mobile. I received an SMS last night that my plan had exceeded its data allowance. .It turns out that I've only used 10% of my allowance. .I am at the end of my monthly rollover .The message was sent at 12:50AM!!!

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

As a Kogan user I can find three other options: TPG- a good plan for light users. Aldi- slightly more than Kogan for an unlimited plan- but still powered by Telstra, so potentially a worry. A light user plan is also available. Amaysim- light & heavy options available. A bit more expensive than...

I suspect FMS was being strongly tongue in cheek. Especially with his smiley.

I've checked back on our Optus bills. Overseas SMS messages are included in the monthly allowance- it looks like 45c per message. At around 40 messages per month, that brings the difference between Optus and the third party providers down a lot. Out daughter overseas still has time on her Optus...

While we can use Whatsapp with one relative and our daughter, other relatives don't even have a smartphone.

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

I like my Kogan- but it doesn't suit my wife very well. She needs to send SMS messages to Mexico, and to get overseas access with Kogan, you need to purchase $14.99 of credits, which expire each month. That seems a rather user unfriendly way of doing things. SMS messages are 50c each. Vaya on...

http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article.aspx?id=8597359 Although I question their age demographics. And the Kogan deal, which is great for somebody like me with a heavy usage of calls, messages and data, is just a footnote. By the look of the ACA story, I'm a very atypical demographic.

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

My number ported ok. It didn't initially transfer, because the handset was tied to Optus- but by calling Optus with the phone IMEI code they released the phone. It's possible the handset was not tied, so you would not need to call Optus.

Anybody with TPG for mobile phone?

I've just gone Kogan. It's on the Telstra network, unlimited local and mobile, 6gb per month. $30 for one month or $299 for a year. That suits my usage well- I generally go over the 2gb which Optus give me- and I understand that all the telcos are reducing their 2gb allowances to 1.5, removing...
