HiEquity - You are spot on. The academic 'spoon feeding' of students in private schools to ensure good results is something that really puts me off a private education for my children.

I attended a public high school in a regional area that had a very high proportion of idigenous students and students from low socio-economic areas. It was overcrowded and had a reputation for being 'rough'. This wasn't a hindrance to my education. I did well at school as did many of my friends...
