Oh dear! You are either a bit slow or truly the master of sarcasm turk. Too funny!!!

Clearly you have no understanding of the word jest and can't pickup on intended irony. Are you over 40? I find that age group struggle with such things!

The only time I recall painting a group of people with the same brush has been in jest to a post in kind, e.g. http://www.somersoft.com/forums/showpost.php?p=791227&postcount=64 If I like to do it then it shouldn't be hard for you to find an example?

If you're going to keep hurling insults at me turk could you at least learn how to use the quote tags so readers can differentiate between your posts and mine? :) Twice in this thread already and it's a pet hate of mine. Just so typical for property investors to be hopeless when it comes to...

Thank god for the voice of reason. I'm glad everyone here doesn't think the guy has a team of researchers preparing data for comments such as this! Great post buzzlightyear, my sentiments exactly. Brushes are used to paint all sorts, First Home Buyers, specific generations, investors...

Funny stuff Dazz. Got his phone number? I'd like to give him a call and request a copy of this "First home buyers expectations" research that you refer to. Sounds like interesting reading.

Back on topic. Personally I've always thought Dazz the type to call a spade a spade. This thread has certainly opened my eyes somewhat. What is the reality? Barnett couldn't possibly be able to justify this quote: "Now there seems to be an expectation amongst many, if not most...

Better opportunities elsewhere. Thought that was pretty obvious from the post you are carrying on these pointless questions from. Done with the interrogation? Can we move on now? Do we really need to derail another thread with pointless attacking of those with a negative property outlook for the...

I didn't call it an investment  That said it was bought specifically with intent to turn into an investment down the track (sub divisible block bought with original intention to develop).

The property? Around 35% (tax free as was PPOR, Sept 2006 to Dec 2009).

 I agree they are outside my influence. I'm not complaining about the situation, simply commentating on it. I did adjust my tactics, sold property Dec 2009, have basically been 100% precious metals since. Over last couple of weeks have scaled back to 50% invested in metals (50% cash)...

I've never said that there aren't properties out there that can be bought by FHBs. My arguments have been that property is overpriced based on historical comparison which has been caused by a credit bubble. I'm sure if those properties at 40km out were too expensive then yourself and others on...

How will they have time to enjoy the use of their cinema room and 65" 3D LCD if they have to travel so far to work each day

Not bad I guess Dazz as long as you don't mind living 30-40km out of the city. Not something I'd personally do. I'm not sure the point of your posts though, you start the thread agreeing that first home buyers shouldn't expect a 4x2 and now you're trying to prove there are affordable 4x2s out...

That character was surely just a troll. Any others? I've seen more articles pointing out that whinging FHBs should suck it up than I've actually seen whinging FHBs with expectations set too high.

Got some links? Can't say I've seen any 'to be' FHBs complaining on this site that they can't afford a 4x2... or seen similar anywhere online. Sounds like another property myth to me.

You make a fair observation rugrat (that it's those that are yet to buy that are complaining, not those who have bought and are in the statistics I quoted). But then where is Barnett getting this expectation that all the FHB wannabees that aren't buying are after 4x2s? Sounds like rubbish to me...

Hmm according to this article: http://news.domain.com.au/domain/first-home-buyers/weak-demand-sees-home-loans-drop-further-20110406-1d3np.html Following on from that this survey indicates a 90% LVR is most common...
