    Does Brisbane still stack up?

It seems like you're intent on finding any excuse you can to convince yourself that OTP is the way to go? I would just buy, I think you've made up your mind:)

Ok good luck! I've never been so anxious to see my accountant!

Is it because you need your next tax return? I'm in the same bind too. I'm due to meet my accountant asap in the new financial year. It can't come soon enough.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

It's already been creeping up since 2012...in the absence of any good news. If good news does hit, yeah it'll be way too late by then.

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

yeah definitely. I just found another one today. I've hit my serviceability wall. So frustrating! I should be happy that I snagged 3 great ones in the last 12 months.

Agree. And maybe it's not Brisbane that "gives". Perhaps it's Sydney that crashes to bring the differential back to where it was. But IMO it's more likely Brisbane goes up to close the gap. Or maybe it's a bit of both, who knows? But I agree...something has to give.

This is my thinking too. So to me, the real question is "Will capital city differentials remain roughy the same for the foreseeable future?", which I questioned in this thread: http://somersoft.com/forums/showthread.php?t=108888

I didn't perceive see_change's initial comments to be rude, I do think the smiley face did indicate it was in humour and it was in no way a personal attack. IMO though.

Two of the best prices I've seen in recent memory have been from an auction. You don't see that in Sydney, where it's quite the opposite. People in Brisbane just don't like them and they can be a good way to snag a bargain.

Exciting. I always wonder what hidden agendas writers have when I read articles like this, but I'll take them at face value and assume they are objective.

For me, it's not done till it's done. I'm generally a nervous wreck all the way until settlement is confirmed!

10k backup offer? You'll be sweating bullets if there are any delays getting finance and need to go cap in hand for an extension...!

    Does Brisbane still stack up?

Ok makes sense. I was hoping you wouldn't be one of those people that hold their ground and then complain about how unfair it is a year from now when everything has gone up 100k. Yes I agree with you, I've read comments here and there from people saying it still hasn't picked up much steam...

No sarcasm here - have you considered that perhaps your evidence / research is wrong? Or do you insist that you're right?

Sold for over 800k (not sure of the price): http://www.realestate.com.au/property-house-qld-sunnybank+hills-119757383 I know this street, it's relatively busy and hilly. Hate it. I wouldn't have paid more than $600 for it, especially given the land size. I wouldn't have thought it could go...

Oh it's just awful. It's no longer the crap hole it used to be but that feeling still lingers.
