    Not really. Taiwanese and Hong Kong people have been here for decades. Mainland Chinese are a relatively recent phenomenon, which is what people are primarily referring to these days when they say "Chinese".

    But aren't both included in the general definition of "Brisbane"? I could be wrong but I often see people describing "Brisbane" as all of greater Brisbane, one huge pot.

    It peaked in 2002, then we had a decade of stagnation, which is effectively a drop in real terms (I believe this is what you're referring to, not an "actual" drop / big drop).
