    With that price at Wentworthville, it is definitely not more affordable than Hills ..... Maybe they want to buy adjacent properties and build units. Oh well someone is willing to pay that much. Good luck to them.

    Even at Hills there has been some major lift in house prices over last 2 months. Some are selling at "stupid" prices ....

    West is still growing, just not as fast as the LNS/UNS Beaches area according to statistics.

    Interesting thing is that the west/south-west is slowing down. I guess they ramped up early and now it is time for the blue chip suburbs to catch up.

    My IP is fine. It is already completed and was settled late last year, and already have tenants. Mirvac didn't charge me extra due to rapid house price rises. I am still surprised that OTP units can cost more than a new house within 1 year .....

    I think duplex/semi is a great way to buy something that is not expensive as a house, and no strata fees, as long as it is newish and no need to knockdown. However everyone else thinks the same :D

    No, it is not a lie .... It is statistics ..... It is how people interpret it. That's why I quoted "lies, lies and statistics". For me median means bugger all as the data can be skewed easily. I prefer to look at the actual sales history of the suburbs over last 6-12 months instead. But hey...

    But isn't it about lies, lies and statistics? All i can see is that apart of houses getting more expensive in general, there is another factor in play: tons of new OTP houses/units/townhouses selling at hideous prices dragging the median up? I have seen a lot of OTPs units selling for stupid...

    Good one. I think UNS has catch up now with rest of Sydney prices. Last year i noticed that Wahroonga/Turramurra was "bargain" compare to Hills prices. After all Sydney is a mature market and people will notice it sooner or later. Holding cost overthere is high though so it is only good for PPOR...
